OUR MISSION
In 2019, Spike Productions launched the Basketful Relief Project (BRP) to write and publish beautiful children’s stories to support hunger relief programs here at home and abroad. With the purchase of a BRP book, Spike Productions currently donates ten percent of each purchase to reputable organizations fighting hunger. The goal however, is to increase this percent amount as more books sell.
We hope these books not only grace your coffee table as classics, but inspire your young reader to engage in them time and again.
The BRP mission really is to help feed both young tummies and minds.
We invite you to review our children’s books on the Basketful Relief Project website, here.
DONATING LOCALLY, EFFA in Boulder, CO
Spike Productions’ BRP has selected to support the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) in Boulder, CO. Established over a century ago, EFFA is a locally operated community safety net for families in times of need.
We invite you to donate directly to EFFA, here.
DONATING INTERNATIONALLY, Save the Children Yemen
Spike Productions’ BRP is currently donating to Save the Children famine relief efforts in Yemen and has started a BRP Save the Children Yemen famine relief fundraising page. With a percent of book sales through the BRP, Spike productions makes monthly donations to this fundraising page. This is an ongoing fundraiser. After we meet a goal of $2,000 the page will reset and start again.
Embroiled in civil conflict since 2011 and civil war since 2015, Yemen is experiencing the world’s worst man-made humanitarian disaster. As war continues, the UN says it is on the brink of the world’s worst famine in 100 years. Twenty-two million people are in urgent need of help, half of them children who are facing a triple threat – hunger, disease and bombs on a daily basis. Save the Children estimates more than 100 young children are dying from extreme hunger every single day.
Save the Children (STC) is on the ground in Yemen, working to help the most vulnerable access food, healthcare and education.
- STC has treated over 150,000 children under five suffering from malnutrition and is supporting health facilities and mobile health and nutrition teams in some of the hardest to reach areas.
- STC is supporting over 150 health facilities to provide life-saving primary healthcare, and responding to outbreaks of cholera and diphtheria.
- STC is distributing food to young children, pregnant women and breastfeeding moms.
