Journee is not only a mouse but a princess who ventures on a quest to discover who she is. Riding on her father’s mighty steed, the adventure takes an interesting turn when she befriends a toad and an owl who tell her about a legendary Pond of Reflection known to reveal one’s true identity while gazing at its mysterious waters. Is the Pond of Reflection magic? Is it simply a solitary place to reflect on who you are? What will the legendary water show Journee and her friends? What will the Pond of Reflection show you when you look into its water and reflect on your own heart?
COMING BY DECEMBER 2020! A new Basketful Relief Project book, The Hyrax Song
Journee is not only a mouse but a princess who loves adventure, especially when she has them alongside her best friends, Mr. Toad, Mr. Owl and Mr. Steed. Not long after their very first escapade together, finding the legendary Pond of Reflection, the four companions find themselves in yet another wild exploit, that is decidedly dangerous and threatens the entire kingdom. It all begins with their discovery of a furry blob on top of a boulder one lovely Fall day, and a message for Journee’s father, the great mouse king. It quickly develops into an exciting adventure, with an unlikely plan that just might thwart a mysterious threat gathering in the Great Plains by the sea, north of the High Western Mountain. A plan that will require the help of every kingdom animal great and small, and a very special gift of the rock hyraxes, who live in the crags of the High Western Mountain. For Journee, the best part about these kinds of adventure? If one can survive them, one undoubtedly will make new friends.
The Hyrax Song, book 2 in The Pearls of Wisdom Series based on a Biblical Proverb is due out at the end of the year on BookBaby, Amazon, and soon to be selling locally at Red Canyon Art in Lyons, CO.
Why Spike Productions’ Basketful Relief Project (BRP) is a proud supporter of Save the Children Famine Relief Efforts in Yemen
Embroiled in civil conflict since 2011 and civil war since 2015, Yemen is experiencing the world’s worst man-made humanitarian disaster. As war continues, the UN says it is on the brink of the world’s worst famine in 100 years. Twenty-two million people are in urgent need of help, half of them children who are facing a triple threat – hunger, disease and bombs on a daily basis. Save the Children estimates more than 100 young children are dying from extreme hunger every single day.
Save the Children (STC) is on the ground in Yemen, working to help the most vulnerable access food, healthcare and education.
- STC has treated over 150,000 children under five suffering from malnutrition and is supporting health facilities and mobile health and nutrition teams in some of the hardest to reach areas.
- STC is supporting over 150 health facilities to provide life-saving primary healthcare, and responding to outbreaks of cholera and diphtheria.
- STC is distributing food to young children, pregnant women and breastfeeding moms.
